Jun 30, 2005
Appl. No.:
11/170922
Inventors:
Bernard Strmiska - Round Rock TX, US
Keith J. Kasprzak - Cedar Park TX, US
Assignee:
Dell Products L.P. - Round Rock TX
International Classification:
H05K 7/12
H05K 7/14
US Classification:
361798, 361754, 361801, 361759, 361747, 3122232
Abstract:
A cam handle assembly for use with a modular information handling system components includes a latch with first protrusion and a second protrusion. The first protrusion is sloped such that when the sloped portion of the first protrusion contacts a portion of a rack or chassis, the latch is urged to a recessed position that will allow the cam handle to move between its closed and open position. The second protrusion on the latch is formed to engage an interface aperture that is formed in the cam handle. The interaction between the latch protrusions, the cam handle and the rack encourage proper operation of the cam handle to install an information handling system component within a rack.

Bernard Strmiska - Round Rock TX, US
Brandon Brocklesby - Cedar Park TX, US
Assignee:
Dell Products L.P. - Round Rock TX
International Classification:
G06F 1/20
US Classification:
361687, 361695, 454184
Abstract:
An airflow regulating apparatus includes a support frame for coupling to a chassis adjacent a heat producing component connector, the support frame defining a regulator channel, and also including an airflow regulator moveably coupled to the support frame and operable to be positioned in the regulator channel. A board including a heat producing component may be provided and the support frame coupled to the board, whereby the airflow regulator will move out of the regulator channel to allow airflow through the regulator channel and past the heat producing component. The heat producing component may then be removed, whereby the airflow regulator will move into the regulator channel to prevent airflow through the regulator channel.

Abstract:
A system for managing air flow through a body of an information handling system is disclosed. The disclosure provides a blank including a blank base plate and a blank ridge extending from the blank base plate. The blank base plate may be configured to match an architecture of both a processor socket and a bank of memory chip sockets. The blank may be configured to provide an impedance to air flow substantially similar to a total impedance provided by a processor and associated heat sink disposed in the processor socket and a bank of memory chips disposed in the bank of memory chip sockets.

Card Retention System

View page
US Patent:
8144463, Mar 27, 2012
Filed:
Apr 8, 2010
Appl. No.:
12/756565
Inventors:
Jean Doglio - Pflugerville TX, US
Bernard Strmiska - Round Rock TX, US
Assignee:
Dell Products L.P. - Round Rock TX
International Classification:
G06F 1/16
US Classification:
36167958, 248612, 439567, 362418
Abstract:
A card retention system includes a chassis comprising a chassis wall. A plurality of actuation channels are defined by the chassis wall. Each of the plurality of actuation channels includes an unsecured section, a secured section, and an arcuate section extending between the unsecured section and the secured section. A securing member is coupled to the chassis wall through the plurality of actuation channels. The securing member is operable to move relative to the chassis wall along a path defined by the plurality of actuation channels. A plurality of engagement members are located on the securing member.
