Filed:
Nov 18, 2004
Appl. No.:
10/990520
Inventors:
Karl R. Dommert - Chattanooga TN, US
James Franks - Ringgold GA, US
Assignee:
Komatsu Ltd. - Tokyo
International Classification:
B62D 55/00
US Classification:
180 91, 180 946
Abstract:
The crawler type traveling apparatus includes a pivot shaft provided on a vehicle body having a hydraulic source in a protruding state, a track frame rocking around and pivotably supported against this pivot shaft , a final reduction gear including a sprocket engaged by a crawler and provided at an end part of this track frame , and a hydraulic motor for driving the sprocket of the final reduction gear for rotation, in which the hydraulic motor is provided on a vehicle inner side with respect to the final reduction gear.

Cooling Device For Construction Machine

View page
US Patent:
7753152, Jul 13, 2010
Filed:
Sep 15, 2005
Appl. No.:
11/226464
Inventors:
Yoshihide Nakae - Komatsu, JP
Karl R. Dommert - Chattanooga TN, US
Assignee:
Komatsu Ltd. - Tokyo
International Classification:
F01P 5/06
US Classification:
180 681, 165122, 165 41
Abstract:
In a bulldozer, a radiator module is separated from an engine and is disposed on the rear of the bulldozer. Louver plates on the upper portion of a grill are installed so as to cover the outside of the radiator module and point in a substantially horizontal direction. Louver plates on the lower portion of the grill point diagonally upward.

Crawler Type Traveling Apparatus

US Patent:
20050126055, Jun 16, 2005
Filed:
Nov 18, 2003
Appl. No.:
10/714933
Inventors:
Karl Dommert - Chattanooga TN, US
James Franks - Ringgold GA, US
International Classification:
G05D001/02
US Classification:
037348000
Abstract:
In a crawler type traveling apparatus so arranged on each side of a vehicle as to be capable of rocking up and down through each pivot shaft and including a track frame rocking round the pivot shaft, and a final reduction gear inclusive of a sprocket and a hydraulic motor that are provided at an end part of the track frame, the invention provides a crawler type traveling apparatus for achieving a compact and economical piping construction and high reliability. A hydraulic motor is provided on a vehicle inner side with respect to a final reduction gear. Hydraulic passages communicating with the hydraulic motor are formed in a pivot shaft. Ports for connecting respectively a predetermined number of hydraulic piping arrangements connected to the hydraulic motor and the like are formed in an outer peripheral surface of the pivot shaft.

Blade Support Structure Of Bulldozer

View page
US Patent:
20050153708, Jul 14, 2005
Filed:
Nov 26, 2004
Appl. No.:
10/996461
Inventors:
Karl Dommert - Chattanooga TN, US
Jason Spitler - Chattanooga TN, US
Masayuki Mukaino - Chattanooga TN, US
International Classification:
H04Q007/20
H04Q007/20
US Classification:
455456100
Abstract:
In a blade support structure of a bulldozer, a rotational axis of an angle control can be formed as a rotational axis which is always directed to one vertical direction, without reference to a pitch control of a blade. A pitching joint is arranged in a front end portion of a pitch support link having a fixed length, an eccentric disc is engaged with a pitching shaft, and the eccentric disc is fitted to a fitting hole formed in a bracket arranged in a back surface of the blade. A rotational axis at a time of an angle control which is constituted by a rotational center of a universal joint rotatably supporting the blade back surface and by a rotational center of the pitching joint is formed on a vertical line with respect to the ground surface.

Blade Pitch Control Structure For Bulldozer

View page
US Patent:
20050194155, Sep 8, 2005
Filed:
Dec 10, 2003
Appl. No.:
10/730939
Inventors:
Karl Dommert - Chattanooga TN, US
Jason Spitler - Soddy Daisy TN, US
Masayuki Mukaino - Chattanooga TN, US
International Classification:
A01B041/06
US Classification:
172002000
Abstract:
A blade pitch control structure for a bulldozer is provided in which angling control of a blade can be performed in a plane parallel to the ground irrespective of the state of pitch control of the blade, thereby realizing good operating accuracy and high operating performance in ground-leveling work. A pin which engages the front end of a pitch support link with a bracket provided on the back side of the blade is constructed as an eccentric pin, and in the eccentric pin, a first shaft part which turnably engages with the front end of the pitch support link and a second shaft part which is fitted into the bracket are mutually eccentric, and the eccentric pin is turned to perform the pitch control.

Chopper Apparatus For Cane Stalk Harvester

View page
US Patent:
56220340, Apr 22, 1997
Filed:
Apr 28, 1995
Appl. No.:
8/430597
Inventors:
Karl Dommert - Trussville AL
Assignee:
Cameco Industries, Inc. - Thibodaux LA
International Classification:
F16D 4321
US Classification:
56 117
Abstract:
A slip clutch and cutter blade apparatus for cane stalk harvesters provides a machine frame with a cutting mechanism in the form of cutter shafts powered by hydraulic motors. The cutter shafts have a plurality of knives thereon that pinch the cane therebetween as the shafts rotate to chop the cane wholestalks into billets. A flywheel is mounted on a flywheel shaft. A gearbox interfaces the flywheel and cutter blades. A flywheel clutch is used as a overload protection device for the chopper system. If overloading occurs, the flywheel slips and therefore limits the torque. The flywheel is placed on the bushing and clamped between the friction linings with the aid of the thrust plate, the cup springs, brake plate, brake plate cover, and bolts. The more the cup springs are compressed by the bolts; the higher the torque at which the flywheel slips.
